Atropa belladonna is a member of the solanaceae family. Solanaceae is a cosmopolitan family with herbs, some small shrubs, and few trees. Potatoes tomatoes chiles etc are some of the edible members of this family. Atropa belladonna itself contains alkaloids of the tropane group. It s been used medicinally to treat peptic ulcers, but due to its acute toxicity its not available for home remedy. Whatever you do with the stuff dont injest it. Its not called deadly nightshade for nothin.
